Laser skin resurfacing is a non-surgical method of facial rejuvenation that can address a wide range of common skin concerns. Our fractional CO2 laser treatments can effectively treat larger areas such as the abdomen and hips, but is also delicate enough to treat areas such as the areas around the eyes and mouth. The benefits of laser skin resurfacing can include:
- Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Lightening dark spots and age spots
- Reversing the visible effects of sun damage
- Achieving a more even skin tone
- Smoothing and softening scars and stretch marks
By simultaneously shedding dead or damaged skin cells and stimulating new collagen production, fractional CO2 laser resurfacing treatments can reveal a smoother, more youthful complexion. As an added benefit, unlike older methods of CO2 treatments, our fractional CO2 laser can minimize downtime and reduce the risks of scarring or pigmentation.
Mild redness and irritation are the most common side effects of fractional CO2 laser treatments, and these inconveniences typically resolve within one to two weeks. Antibiotic and antiviral medications are prescribed for all patients a few days before treatment to prevent infection. To maximize the results of your laser skin resurfacing treatment, we recommend you wear sunscreen daily for at least six months after the procedure. In addition, some of our patients at Richmond Aesthetic Surgery’s med spa choose to undergo multiple treatment sessions for a more complete skin rejuvenation.
