How Long Is Recovery After Laser Skin Resurfacing?

woman-smooth-skinLaser skin resurfacing is a non-surgical method of facial rejuvenation that can address a wide range of common skin concerns. Our fractional laser treatments can effectively treat larger areas such as the abdomen and hips, but is also delicate enough to treat areas such as the areas around the eyes and mouth. The benefits of laser skin resurfacing can include:

By simultaneously shedding dead or damaged skin cells and stimulating new collagen production, fractional laser resurfacing treatments can reveal a smoother, more youthful complexion. As an added benefit, our fractional laser can minimize downtime and reduce the risks of scarring or pigmentation.

Mild redness and irritation are the most common side effects of fractional laser treatments, and these inconveniences typically resolve within one to two weeks. Antibiotic and antiviral medications are prescribed for all patients a few days before treatment to prevent infection. To maximize the results of your laser skin resurfacing treatment, we recommend you wear sunscreen daily for at least six months after the procedure. In addition, some of our patients at Richmond Aesthetic Surgery’s med spa choose to undergo multiple treatment sessions for a more complete skin rejuvenation.
